Okay, so I have plans to go see Transformers 2 tonight.  I am. . . conflicted because while I am well aware that the blatant racism and sexism in it is going to make me RAGE like no other, I still really really really REALLY want to see a sweet ass movie about giant robots.  I mean, come on.  They're giant robots and they're gonna fight and there's gonna be a bunch of sweet explosions. 

I'm a bad person.

But hey, at least it won't be as racist as Avatar's casting.  I haven't even looked at the new trailer for it.  But I heard it's attached to Transformers 2, so I'm going to have to watch it tonight.  Eugh.

What are your five top hopes for your fandom(s) or your fan activities in 2008? 

1. Avatar: The Last Airbender: I hope the next episodes are amazing and spectacular and include important things like: Suki being found/rescued, Iroh being awesome, Toph being awesome, Zuko being not lame, Katara taking a chill pill, Aang saving the world or whatever this show is about, and some dramatic amazing conclusion.

2. House: New episodes start in the new year.  RIGHT?  RIGHT?

3. The Office: Come back.

4. Twilight (and yes, for some reason, I have fallen into this fandom.):  The next book, which comes out Fall 2008, I think, should ideally not suck too bad.  I know it will suck.  I just don't want it to suck TOO bad.  Also, threesome between Edward, Bella, and Jacob.  Maybe some good writing would be nice too. . .  I'm a dreamer.

5. Also maybe I should draw some fanart.

As sad as funerals and the like are, they can't be denied as sort of gathering places of people. I spent a lot of time with my cousins today that probably wouldn't normally be spent with them. It was nice just being together.

I also met a lot of people that I don't know, but they know me, you know?

I met a young boy who my mother has talked about in the past as being a hardcore Avatar fan. He was kind of all scared of me at first, like really shy. But then later when I was sitting down and taking a break from talking to everyone, he came up to me and just said, "Do you like Toph?"

"Yeah, she's like my favorite character." And he laughed and was all like, "Me too!" So we talked a bit about new season and how cool Zuko and Aang are with their changing hairstyles and how it sucked that there aren't any female action figures. And he would bring up Pokemon and we talked about that a bit. It was really cute, and he seemed like a nice kid. I'll probably see him again sometime in the future. (lol my new 8 year old bff)

I also chatted with my cousin about House a bit. We really haven't ever gotten a chance to just geek talk about it at family events, but we were really bored tonight when everyone else was drinking and talking. (This was after all the time we spent at the funeral home. Again, the family must commune together to eat and drink and whatnot.)

She showed me some of the cute House fanart she had saved on her computer and upon noticing the various wallpapers she had, I had to declare with disdain, "You're a House/Cameron fan..."

She said, "Yes, I am."

"I'm a Huddy."

"Oh."

Neither of us appear to be too hardcore about our ships, so there was no epic battle to speak of, but we were both very disturbed by the difference of opinion we seemed to have, as if the other shippers were on opposite sides of the world. We got a chance to discuss what we've heard about the new season though, so that was very nice.

Geekery brings families together, people. Remember that.

Okay, mysterious ailment time. I know this is the most typical obnoxious thing to rant about in a journal, but a;ldjfad;lkf this is getting weird.

So, I pretty much have had this odd soreness in my forearm for a while. I noticed it first when I was lifting garbage cans at work. (Yes, I work in a fucking bakery and 1/5 of my time is usually spent dealing with garbage in one way or another.) But now, this morning, I tried to pick up my coffee cup and actually had to brace myself with my other arm. It's just my right arm, which is weird. And makes me kind of concerned, since uh... I like my right arm. I would be more concerned right now about this if I didn't have a history of being kind of a... hypochondriac. So anyway, I guess I'll just work my other muscles for now. There's the definite possibility that I just strained it or something.

Speaking of coffee, I made some yesterday and nobody even drank it except me. THE SOLUTION TO THIS: DRINK THE ENTIRE POT MYSELF TODAY. YES, THANK YOU. I AM BRILLIANT.

This is officially the last day I'm taking off school this week. So let's make it count.

Also: Avatar premieres tomorrow. Guess who won't be watching it when it premieres? You guessed it! I'll be working, as always. Luckily, I just so happen to have a friend who will record it for me? I hope? I actually have an easy weekend this week. Yeah, that's right. Just a five hour shift midday on Saturday. And I have Sunday off. Which means tons of time to frolic and play and influence other people into liking silly cartoons.

Perhaps a bribe may be in order- OH WHAT AM I SAYING OF COURSE MY BEST FRIEND WILL RECORD IT FOR ME. I'M AWESOME. AND CUTE.

Okay, maybe not cute, but certainly awesome.  

Speaking of work interfering with my life: I saw this HUGE fly at work.  Usually, we have a few regular sized flies and a plethora of itty bitty ones that buzz around until I kill them (WITH MY HANDS BITCH).  They come in with the fruit and end up taking over the whole store.  We have bug zappers in the back that the produce dudes take out and leave by all the fruit that they don't put away in the evening.  So USUALLY they aren't a problem.  But this one... It was a monster.  Like, look at your thumb.  It was as big as the end of it, I swear.  

So I try to kill this thing in the most logical way I can, by shrieking and trying to smack it with the nearest blunt object.  Of course, since I am alone in the bakery by this time, all I get is a few weird looks from the deli kids.  But the monster flies away.  But then it turns up again when I am taking some bread out to the tables...  I still didn't manage to kill it.  But I wanted to.  Oh, how I wanted to smash that thing and pin it up on the wall as a trophy of some kind.  Just to show those bakers what I have to go through when they aren't there.  I contemplated going on a hunt through the entire store to find it.  I'm just hoping it got zapped later that night.  Otherwise it could possibly mutate further and deplete the entirety of our produce department.  (Though, I'm sure it is strictly carnivorous...  A flying monster fueled by its diabolical BLOOD LUST.)

Anyway, I guess I better work on some of that homework that I haven't been doing...

At Starbucks. Luckily, Sarah was there with us or we would have been a lot more scared. Also luckily, the tow guy was able to jump start it and my dear Artemis seems to be running fine once again. She gave me a serious scare there. Though, it was decided that we would rather her break down five minutes away from home at the Starbucks that we tend to frequent rather than on one of our trips across town.

And omigosh guys! Big Brother 8 tonight was intense. I was so hoping that Eric would win veto and take Jessica off so that Dick or Daniele would have to be put up on the block. Unfortunately, that was not the case and now it's still Jess and Jameka duking it out. Here's hoping that Jameka goes home so that Jess can survive for another week! Fingers crossed.

Also... 1. House. M.D.
House/Wilson - I really didn't want to like this pairing when I first got into the show.  I thought it would be just the stereotypical "slash the best friends" pairing.  But then I just couldn't help but notice their chemistry.  I'm so ashamed but so happy whenever they hang out together.

2. Avatar: The Last Airbender
Toph - She's the most awesome character ever, in my opinion.  I love that she's just a blind, short, twelve year old girl but that she kicks so much ass it's unheard of.
Zuko/Anyone - It is my opinion that this kid just needs to get laid.  That would have solved like, half the show's problems.

Spencer Reed - An adorable geeky guy.  What more could I want?  He's had his share of awesomeness too.

5. Law and Order: SVU
Stabler/Benson - Ah, Olivia and Elliot.  They work so WELL together.  She's nice and caring and he's crazy and intense.  I love it.

6. Psych
Lassiter - This guy is just too cute!  I really like the "tough guy" character a lot of the time and the fact that he epitomizes that in a comedy show is just awesome.  Also, he's played by such a unique looking actor.  I like when I can easily pick characters out of a crowd.  That is oddly attractive to me.  Plus, he supports CAPSLOCK.  "Right now you're lowercase mad.  YOU NEED TO BE UPPERCASE MAD."  Awesome.
Shawn/Lassiter - I love pairings where the resulting relationship would be so delightfully absurd.  I can't stand angst most of the time.  I like to think that Shawn would still be just as annoying towards Lassi if he were dating him.

7. Pokemon (anime)
Jack Walker - Is it weird that I love a one shot character from a movie the best?  I know we'll never see him again, but I really LOVED the Manaphy movie.  Simply because he was absolutely amazing.  Awesome voice actor too.

8. Harry Potter 
Sirius/Remus - Another guy friends turned gay pairing.  Oh, why do I do this?  I've seriously loved this pairing since forever though.  I just can't help it!  The only other one that is rivaling my love for it is Harry/Luna since I saw the fifth movie.

This is pretty much my life right now.

I was happy to be able to catch the new Psych episode yesterday after work.  All the characters were pretty cute, but the episode overall was kind of boring.  I definitely need to see the ones that I've missed due to working late.

At this point, I am not even sure how much I feel like speculating.  It's crazy how much a long pause in updates on the series can quell my once fiery interest.  

I am definitely interested in the trailer and comic samples and sketches and screenshots.  There is no doubt about that.  Even characters that I didn't like at first are now make reappearances or having some sort of change and making me totally into everything they're about.  

In the midst of a season, when a new episode can be expected every week, I am always speculating and thinking about where the plot is going to go next.  Perhaps the lack of new episodes for so many months has taken me past Avatar Withdrawal Syndrome and has progressed further into near complete apathy.  At this point, I don't CARE what the creators do with it.  I just want it.  No matter what happens, I am sure not to whine or complain.  It's not as if I even really have ships that I support for this series.  Really, there are more pairings that I can be cool with than there are ones that I am not.

But, let's try and act like I am a part of this fandom.

-Toph vs. Zuko (For some reason, I believe she is the only one who could knock some sense into him.)

I had to reinstall AIM on my computer.  For some reason, that nasty little program felt like malfunctioning on me.  It probably realized how lonely I was and just cut the connection out of pity.  Oh well.  I'm not judging it.  In any case, I forgot my password to my last screen name and ended up getting another one of those.  Of course, I also forgot pretty much every screen name of everyone I ever talk to.  All I really manage to remember is Aaron's, because he uses the same thing for everything.  It's looking pretty skeletal at the moment, but I'm sure it'll bulk up eventually.  I'll be back to my normal, antisocial, "why do I even have this screen name" self.

I was basically attached to Phoenix Wright all day today.  It was very intense, let me tell you.  My family is getting tired of my radical outbursts regarding case information though.  THEY think I'm addicted.  THEY don't know anything, if you ask me.

Aside from that, we watched Stranger than Fiction again, since my mother has not seen it.  Good movie, in my opinion.  She fell asleep though.  I was only paying half attention.  The case was very intense, okay?  I had to prove my client was innocent!

We also watched some House.  (Wow, I wonder who suggested we do THAT.)  Very fun, of course.  Though, I want to go through the entire show and analyze things.  I've been picking up on repeated references to urine, red coffee mug appearances, and homosexual subtext.  I want to go through and watch every episode with a notebook in hand to write down everything I notice.  I could do that with Avatar too, but I'm really not sure if anyone else would be interested in either, frankly.  I'm interested in the background music suggestions and the mood conveyed through lighting in Avatar.  Actually, I'm interested in the mood conveyed through lighting in basically everything I watch.  I'm a sucker for good lighting.

What kind of geekery is this?  I am kind of proud of myself for thinking about this junk, but I'm also kind of concerned for my sanity.  It's a lonely existance when you're a bore.
