Sister: Do they have matching tattoos?  Yes, matching tramp stamps.
Me: Ew, omg. That's gross.
Sister: I mean, we're getting matching tattoos but not tramp stamps. . .
Me: And we're not completely identical, wear the same clothes, sleep in the same bed, and share the same old guy.
Sister: . . . Well, that'd be rad if we did.
Me: That'd be freaking awesome if we did, but we don't.

Even though my mother and I frequently bond over television, we have one difference that has put considerable strain on our relationship lately.

She is a Letterman fan. I am a Conan fan. What are we supposed to do, just get along? It's impossible. We're entirely different people.

And I'm not even kidding, we're downright mean about this. Our fights vary between Letterman beating Conan in ratings to Conan not being a womanizing douchebag like Letterman and so on.

I'd like to say this is the weirdest or most dysfunctional part of our relationship, but sadly, I'm sure it isn't.

I wanted to look for some Conan dvds from when he was on Late Night or something because I never watched him back then and she was acting like it would be a tragic mistake for me to do so. She told me to check the library first, even though that probably means I'll be racking up late fees anyway.

It filled me with glee yesterday when my mother watched Psych with me.  Or more, I asked if we could watch the episode I had recorded and she was kind of reading so she's like, "yeah whatever."  BUT THEN SHE ACTUALLY LAUGHED AT SOME OF THE STUFF.

It makes me so happy when people watch my shows with me.  :) idk why, I guess I feel like less of a loser.

My mother's tarot card reading told her that her Gemini child would be in a new relationship soon.

My mother was like, "HMM I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS GOOD OR BAD."

And I was like, "WELL IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME THAT'S FOR SURE."

And yes, my mother and I mostly talk in all caps to each other. It's a ~family thing~.

I went through yesterday thinking it was Thursday, but it was Friday, and payday.  So now I have to wait until Monday to deposit my paycheck.  Okay, I'm a little slow sometimes.

Have to go to work in a few.  But then I have two days off in a row???  holla.

I think I'm going to start watching some of my tv box sets I received for my bday tonight since my sister is gone for the weekend.

2. People who feel the need to discuss my personal life without me present. Like, I get it, I'm a very confusing individual, but you should be directing your queries to me, not my BFFs and putting them on the spot to reveal information about me. That's not cool.
3. People who put more energy into the negative than the positive. We get it, you don't like things, but I'd honestly rather hear about what you do like sometimes.
4. People who feel like they have to raise their voice to me to get their point across. No, I've been shouted at my whole life, trust me, it doesn't make me understand your point of view any faster.
5. When people with a very very limited knowledge of the world feel like they can judge me (and other people) for how I live my life and the things I say. Seriously, if you knew the people I know and experienced the things I have, you wouldn't hate on me.
6. My fingernails.
7. Those nights where you don't know if it's hot enough to turn the fan on but you don't know if it's cool enough to leave it off, so you leave it off and go to bed and then when you wake up you are hideously warm and sweaty and it's the worst night ever.

Actually, this comment on my status was her second one.  The first one, I just deleted in order to avoid any controversy.  Yeah, I guess that didn't go well.  She's back with more text wall.  At least now my super catholic upbringing is completely blatant to everyone.
